    The IMD Ranchi Meteorological Center today issued a hailstorm warning in isolated pockets of Jharkhand. Forecasters said light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are expected at many places over the state today.

    Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by strong surface winds of 40-50 km/h are likely in isolated places over the state. A hail warning has been issued for isolated locations over the southern and central parts of the state.

    Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are also expected at several places over the state till tomorrow. The trough from sub-Himalayan West Bengal to northern Orissa via Gangetic West Bengal hovered at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

    Many places including Jamshedpur woke up to inclement weather today. It was also cloudy, with occasional rain in many places. Dry weather prevailed over the state in the past 24 hours.

    A temperature of 37.0 °C was recorded at Chaibas while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.5 °C was recorded at Garhwa.

    Meteorologists said no major change is expected in the maximum temperature during the next 24 hours, then a gradual drop of 3-4 °C over the next two days and then a gradual rise of 2-4 °C over the next two days.
